London Library

The library has history and a great book collection. I am in the middle of editing and writing so will not explore the books yet. It is a treat for when I put the ‘pen’ down on my work and finally hand it in to the publisher.

The Posh Boy – sorry you do not belong!

I noticed him because his clipped upper-class accent stood out in this deprived working-class environment awash with newly arrived immigrants, phone shops, beggars and people with haggard hard on anxious faces.

African Writes 2019

Her story was about a world in which women had to go naked or unclothed until they were ‘claimed’ in marriage by a man.

I am a Literary Geek – a reading machine!

I read everything. Comics, Romance, Horror, Sci-fi, Literary, Crime. I had favourite books – Pride and Prejudice, Emma, The Little women. I loved Agatha Christie – she became a staple – long dead in faraway in cold England while I followed her exotic characters under the scorching Nigerian sun.

RIP Toni Morrison

It was 1992. Ms Morrison had a given a talk on the book, to a rapt audience, in a packed ICA. The queue to have the book signed was very long, and I was hungry, so I skipped having mine signed and had berated myself for my foolishness ever since.

The Stockfish – One of world’s stinkiest food yet I love eating it!

The head of the stockfish which I imagine the Norwegians used to toss in the bin is a particular favourite in many parts of Nigeria most especially the east as it adds an extra flavour that enriches the soup.
