Housewives is scripted, surreal but hugely entertaining. It it has thrust me away from my bookish world to one where girls make an effort to look glam either through plastic surgery, Botox or heavy makeup. They also seem to dress up for every occasion, try to have a good time, and are not afraid to air their feelings of anger in public or on national TV.

When I watch food programs on Netflix like ‘Somebody Feed Phil’ or the late Anthony Bourdain marching through the streets of Asia and tasting all the delicious street foods, I am filled with envy and a strange kind nostalgia.
The Full English Breakfast…Yum Yum!
We call it the greasy fry ups, all-day breakfast and a host of other names. British hotels are famous for making it. Hotels in different countries serve it. In Britain builders and construction workers love it! Yes! It is eggs, sausages, baked beans, fried tomatoes, fried mushrooms, fried tomatoes, black pudding, and toast. The full English breakfast in all its processed glory! I do not eat black pudding. That is going too far, but I have begun a habit of eating these on Sundays. I happily gobble it up and have it for breakfast or brunch.
